How can Australian men be better?

Throughout 2024, White Ribbon Australia sat and spoke with men and boys across the country – through cultures, ages and history – and asked difficult but honest questions. What does it mean to be a good man? A better partner? A good companion?

Many participants said they felt disconnected from the story about violence against women. Not because they didn't want to help, but because they didn't feel like they could. Some did not think they were “perfect enough” to speak. If they had made mistakes, held obsolete views or were not proud of each choice they had made, could they still be part of the solution?

In May, during the month of prevention of domestic and family violence in Australia, White Ribbon Australia proudly launched a conversation so that men begin to think differently in their place in all of this.
