88,848 Americans Exposed As Massive Medical Data Breach Leaks Names, Addresses, Social Security Numbers, Financial Account Details and More
An incident in cybersecurity was exposed to the personal, medical and financial information of nearly 100,000 Americans.
In a new filing with the Office of the Maine Attorney General, Georgia based on Family Healthcare Firm Virtuvian Health Says 88,848 Clients are affected by a data violation involving the Nationwide Recovery Service (NRS), a third-party collection agency used by the company to recover unpaid debts.
Vitruvian Health said the NRS discovered the cybersecurity incident in July 2024 when an unauthorized creature illegally accessing the company database, halting customer data including names, addresses, social security numbers, birth dates, financial details, and medical records.
“The NRS investigation revealed that an unauthorized individual to access NRS systems from July 5, 2024 to July 11, 2024 and removed data from the system. Vitruvian health has noted the data affected by this incident. Because at that time, Vitruvian health is working on NRS confirm pay attention to those involved. ”
Virtuvian health, formerly known as the Hamilton Health Care System, is a multi-specialty medical practice that offers primary, emergency and behavior services as well as various interventions for pain management.
The firm said it immediately sent letters to the affected customers to inform them about the security incident while offering identification protection services services with a $ 1 million insurance payment policy.
Vitruvian health also featured that its systems were “not affected by the security incident,” and the data violations were limited to the NRS network.
To date, the firm requires affected users to remain vigilant and immediately report any weak -suspected activities related to their personal, financial or medical note.
