TIME Special Report: Five Year After George Floyd

It is time to welcome the dinner of impact time: The road to justice 'in Washington, DC on May 20, in partnership with the Center for Policing Equity

May 1, 2025—Today, time publishes “Five years later: America is looking for a way to follow after George Floyd“, A special report published before the fifth anniversary of the murder of George Floyd. Following the death of Floyd, millions of Americans went down to the street, launching the biggest demonstrations in American history and marking a moment of the watershed which required security, dignity and the end of anti-black racism. Center for police actionsThe special package presents a collection of interviews and tests of researchers, activists, artists, etc., exploring why the pursuit of racial justice remains so difficult in America.

“Few periods influenced the course of American history during the last century as the murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, and the world protest movement which came the following summer,” said the editor of the chief of chief in chief Sam Jacobs. “We are grateful to associate ourselves with the center for the police to publish works by artists, photographers and writers, each reflecting on the impact of this moment and the work that remains canceled.”

The new project cover is a painting, Holding (blue), by Tajh Rust For time. On painting, Rust writes: “I used this motif of water to speak to a shared story and a collective memory through the black diaspora. Water gives us a chance to think, but it can also be a flood. Our stories, our challenges and our triumphs are connected by the oceans. This family unit is flooded by increasing water, but they remain above.

As an extension of the special project, time will host the Time impact dinner: the road to justice with the partner presenting the Center for police actions In Washington, DC on May 20. The evening will devote itself to raising the prospects of the leaders presented in the special report “Five years later: America is looking for a path after the special George Floyd” report and those who strive to reshape public security systems to stimulate equity and better support marginalized communities.
