‘The Righteous Gemstones’ Ends With a Ludicrous Finale

THe fourth and last season of HBO Fair precious stones Wrapped with a blow – finally, several fringes – Sunday evening, closing another crazy adventure with our favorite profane preacher clan in the most ridiculous and most operating way possible.

If you thought that the penultimate episode of the show – as part of the ex -bad man of Lori (Megan Mullaly), her husband and owner of Gator, Cobb Millsap (Michael Rooker), is eaten alive by her reptilian star Big Gus – would finish the violent arc of this season, you were wrong. In the latest episode, “Raising Holy Hell One Last Time”, it turns out that Cobb's son Corey (Sean William Scott) was an accomplice of the frenzy of serial killers from his father and kept a secret of the Bible of Pierre Dorée stolen and golden from his father. Tormented by his past decisions, he decides to kill – in a costume of Michael Jackson, no less – Jesse (creator of the Danny McBride series), Judy (Edi Patterson), and Kelvin (Adam Devine), leading to a ruthless shooting inside Galilee Gulch, the luxury house of Gemstones, while the extended family on the lake.

Whether it is a divine intervention, or a pure chance, the brothers and sisters of precious stones all take but survive some of the corey bullets – thanks in large part to the heroic of Dr. Watson, their living room Dexterous Pet Cuchin, who recovers the Jesse pistol from his bedroom with an impressive head of head. (This, after refusing to kill his enemies of mega -church in a sanctioned pistol duel.) With the Bible back in possession of the family, the brothers and sisters kneel Corey and begin to sincerely pray because their best friend bleeds – a full moment for the first episode of the season with sellers of Bradley to do to do the suede.

This is the kind of awkward Shakespearean arc that McBride has mastered during the always hilarious race of the series – but the season does not end on a Downer. In the Coda of the final, each member of the Gemstone family finds their own form of resolution – guided by the voice of the family matriarch, Aimee -Leigh (Jennifer Nettles), whose premature death was long their source of despair, but whose immortal spirit has finally approved.

It will be difficult to say goodbye to this clergy of the madmen of South Carolina. Here is where each of them is when McBride closes the right book on them.

Uncle Baby Billy

After weeks to reject his wife's worries about the fact that he was not spending enough time with the family, Baby Billy (Walton Goggins) finally has an Eureka moment on the set of “Teenjus” and closed the show towards the end of the production. This is a decision of several million dollars taken in a hurry that there will probably be financial ramifications for the Gemstone family, but it showed that Billy had seen the light – and could even give to his nanny and Tiffany, Sola, a much necessary leave. However, there must be the opportunity to develop the balance between Billy professional and private life so that he can continue his epic of sword and sandals. If “Bonkers” can become a success, why cannot “teenjus”?

Jesse Gemstone

Prayer pods did not work (too many people have used it to masturbate). He was not nominated for the top of man following Christ. His sons do not get along. Most of these things would be sufficient to send Jesse to a Tailpin, but at the end of the fourth season, after having succeeded in defeating the rival Vance Simpkins (Stephen Dorff) in a duel, and showing his humility by refusing to kill him, it seems so slightly mature. He even took into account the written words of his deceased mother and accepted the fact that his father deserves to be happy with Lori (Megan Mullally), even if he does not support the thought of another woman with him. Will he and his brothers and sisters keep the sector of precious stones alive without Eli? It's hard to say. But it is encouraging to see that his eldest son Gideon is amends with his young brother Pontius by building a skatepark on the theme of precious stones. There is always room for skaters under the shadow of Megachurch.

Judy Gemstone

It was not an easy season for Judy. When Lori entered the photo and started going out with Eli, she is immediately territorial and dug in her Bulldog instinct. Then, after her husband BJ (Tim Baltz) was injured in a pole dance accident, she had to face Dr. Watson, the monkey that turned into a rehabilitation servant of her husband (and just as territorial). Fortunately, the pair is amends when it sees how much the joy of Dr. Watson brings to BJ, and she welcomes the Capuchin to the family. It is difficult to see this relationship last a long time without more drama, but since Dr. Watson has helped save the lives of Gemstone children, Judy should probably give his buffoonemeries a latitude. As for BJ, he is now out of the wheelchair capable of walking. It would be difficult to bet against him to find another niche – although safer – to continue in the meantime.

Kelvin precious stone

It is fair to say that Kelvin had the most festive outing in the series. After having almost groped his shot to gain the top of the man who follows Christ thanks to a bad television table from the round table, the youngest brother of a precious stone chose to leave the closet on television – and in the hearts of judges and voters. Having spent a lot of time with his boyfriend Keefe (Tony Cavalero) to renovate his old hut in the trees, he uses it as a backdrop for his wedding. Naturally, Eli presides over the wedding that shakes the pins and marries his last child, whose reception includes fireworks that dazzle the night sky. With the Bible of the Golden family back to the place where it belongs, Kelvin can finally resist the nightmares of the Cobb flight and sleep peacefully in Keefe's arms now.

Eli precious stone

The narrative push of this season was focused on Eli's scandalous relationship with Lori, whose long-standing friendship with Aimee-Leigh ultimately gravitates her towards precious stones when things with her ex-husband are mistaken. Although his children were not ripe enough to accept their adventure, the shot from the Maison du Lac helps to put things in perspective for everyone, and repairs the rift that had formed between Eli and Lori. After Kelvin's marriage, Eli returns to “somewhere in Florida” to live a lonely life on his sailboat. Until Lori presents herself, eager to forgive him for the calamities that broke around them and become his “first companion”. The precious stone patriarch will probably live happy forever on open seas – until his children inevitably have trouble.
