Pope Leo XIV: Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost elected head of Catholic Church, first American pope in history

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost was elected as the head of the Catholic Church on the second day of the Vatican voting, the first US national to take the paper.
Prevost, 69, was born in Chicago but spent most of his life outside the US, mostly in Peru and Rome.
He is believed to be a great potential interlocutor with Donald Trump, but can quarrel with him with the move policies. He chose the name of Leo Xiv.
The new pope was selected during the Conclave, a closely guarded process in which 133 cardinals gather in the Sistine Chapel to select the next pontiff.
