Nvidia CEO urges Trump to change rules for AI chip exports

Jensen Huang, Managing Director of Nvidia Corp.
“We have to accelerate the dissemination of US AI in the world,” said Huang in a brief meeting with the media. “Policies and encouragement of the administration must really support this.”
Nvidia sells the main AI chips for the training of artificial intelligence models, including for Openai, but it was prohibited to sell its most advanced products to customers in China. The Biden administration had sketched an additional policy for the dissemination of AI, or limiting the sale of AI technologies to countries around the world on the basis of three qualification bands.
“I do not know what the new diffusion rule will be, but anything, he must really recognize that the world has changed fundamentally since the publication of the previous diffusion rule,” said Huang.
He also warned that China has become a formidable rival of technology, and distinguished Huawei Technologies Co., the Chinese telecommunications giant that has extended to the design of its own AI tokens.
“China is not late,” he said. “Are they ahead of us?” China is just behind us. We are very, very close. ”
Huang made these remarks during a trip to Washington which included an appearance at the Hill and Valley Forum, a gathering of American technology leaders and legislators.

NVIDIA relies on the Taiwan production partner Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., which began to make fleas in Arizona. This company has long manufactured the most advanced products from Nvidia to Taiwan.
“With the will and with the resources of our country, I am sure that we can make on the shore,” said Huang.
