Mexico has sued the Tech Giant GoogleThe Bay of MexicoAs the American Gulf, the change made by US President Donald Trump through executive order,Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaumsaid on Friday.
Sheinbaum did not provide details about the case during the Daily Press briefing, but said Google was sued.
The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Relations had previously sent letters to Google asking it not to be called the Mexican territorial water as the Gulf of America.
Google did not immediately respond to the comment application.
The body of water has shared the borders between the United States and Mexico. Trump's arrangement is only carried by the US in Mexico, but also in other countries and international institutions, does not have to admit the change.
Mexico claims that the Gulf of America should only apply to the bay part of the United States mainland.
In FebruarySheinbaum shared a letterCris Turner, vice president of Google Government and Public Policy, claiming that Google does not changethe policy it describedAfter Trump proclaimed a body of water in the Gulf of America.
In its current form, the Gulf of Google Maps appears as the Gulf of America, the Gulf of Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America) elsewhere. Turner said in his letter that the company uses the American Gulf to follow long -term card policy impartially and consistently in all regions.
The Gulf of Mexico has been called this name for more than 400 years. The Associated Press refers to this with its original name, while recognizing a new name that Trump has chosen. The White House moved in Februaryblock APFrom a small group of journalists to cover at the Trump Oval Office or on board Air Force One, who has a casual ability to cover it at events in the eastern room.
The AP presented three Trump administration officials to dig access to presidential events, referring to freedom of expression, asking the federal judge to suspend the blocking of journalists.
The Federal Judge ordered the White House last month to restore AP's full access to presidential events, confirming the grounds for the first change that the government could not punish the content of the news organization for its speech content. The judge's decision gave an emergency relief at the time of the case.
