I Would Never Wear A Small Watch… Until Now

  • I always wanted to have watches greater than 40 mm.
  • Raymond Weil impressed us on watches and wonders with their small dimensions.
  • The Raymond Weil Millesime Automatic Small de Secondes is my choice among the new 2025.

A year ago, if you had told me that I would even plan to wear a 35 mm watch, I would have laughed in the face and called you a silly and silly person. I have always been firmly in the 40 mm camp and upwards. Give me the presence of the wrist. Give me daring legs and enough real estate to follow a storm system. Small watches? It was a not difficult.

Then came the Raymond Weil Millesime 35 mm… And everything has changed.

Raymond Weil returns to watches and wonders

We first spotted it at Watches & Wonders 2025, and that stopped us in our footsteps. Quiet confidence. Elegant proportions. Vintage codes without false nostalgia. I tried it … and suddenly, I got it. It was not only a small watch; It was a refined watch. One with a goal and a detention. And it looked good on the wrist.

This new Raymond Weil Millesime Programming includes Central seconds (Ref. 2125), Moon phase complications (Ref. 2145), and even diamond legs for those who want a little discreet brilliance. The dials are a mixture of denim blue, burgundy and silver, all with the arrangement of the signature sector of Raymond Weil, the sapphire glass box crystals and the delicately textured finishes.

Let's talk about the price, because in a world where Swiss watches seem to start at five large, these are really accessible: Raymond Weil Millesime 35 mm with central seconds is available for around $ 2,300 USD (~ $ 3,650 AUD). Raymond Weil MILSIME Moon 35 mm GLANS phase depending on the configuration and is available for around 3,152 USD (~ $ 4,200 at $ 4,850 AUD).

All watches are made in Switzerland, have automatic movements based on automatic sales and are delivered with free delivery and returns to Australia.

Raymond Weil Millesime Central Seconds is my choice

At 35 mm, the central central seconds are thin (less than 10 mm thick); It houses the automatic movement RW4200, has a water resistance of 50 m and has a brushed telescope with polished bevels which raise the entire design. There is a denim blue dial version with 16 diamonds cultivated in the laboratory on the legs. It is a nice touch that does not scream the “piece of jewelry” but adds a feeling of occasion.

If you are looking for something a little more poetic, the version of the moon phase adds an animated complication at six o'clock with a smiling moon, stars and planets. Always classic, but not too serious. It is powered by the RW4280 automatic caliber and is delivered in a stainless steel case or a pink gold PVD, associated with silver or deep blue dials.

And let's not forget: the Millesime Small Seconds 39.5 mm model in fact won the Prix du Grand Prix de Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) – a massive wink to the growing credibility of Raymond Weil in passionate circles.

At a time when everyone looks at their wallets – and rightly so – it's a brand that makes high quality mechanical watches, beautifully designed and Swiss manufacturing at prices that do not feel like a day flight. So yes … I changed. Against all odds, I have become the kind of guy who has a small watch. And not just the door … love it. What happens to me?
