‘I Expect Huge Benefits from This Market Innovation’: New SEC Chair Signals Crypto Policy Shift in New Speech
This is the dawn of a new crypto season for the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
New SEC Chair Paul Atkins, who sworn in This week, spoke to the regulator's third “Crypto Task Force” on Friday and talked The potential of digital assets increases.
He also lasted the previous SEC regulation approach to the sector.
“This is an important task because entrepreneurs across the United States will not use the blockchain technology to modernize aspects of our financial system. I expect great benefits from the innovative market ideas for efficiency, cost reduction, transparency, and risk reduction.
His language represents a contrast contrast to the approach of previous chair Gary Gensler, who manages the actions that implement high-profile against many crypto companies, including giant industries Binance, Kraken, Coinbase, Ripple Labs, Uniswap Labs and Consensys. Since Gensler came down in January, all cases were closed.
Atkins also asked crypto stakeholders on Friday for the challenges of existing security laws.
“For example, are the changes required in precautionary policies under the Exchange Act, Advisers Act, or Company Company Act to accommodate crypto assets and blockchain technology? A new objective broker-dealer 'regime may be required?
