Meet the HackerNoon Top Writers – Wes Huber’s Journey In Tech

Introduction

I am Wes Huber, I am currently working full time as a software developer for Brock Solutions – a company from the IIOT Space serving manufacturing and transport and logistics industries. Before working full -time, I worked independent for about 7 years for various digital agencies and I obtained a lot of punctual projects on Upwork. Transition currently to a product management role.

How did you start writing?

I have always had a passion for creative writing since I was a child, and I always appreciate tutorials and procedures step by step. I started writing coding tutorials on very specific questions that I would meet in projects where I had not yet seen a tutorial written for the problem. An example of this includes the creation of a React application as a personalized plugin for a WordPress site.

How did technology affect your way of writing?

Technology is an easy -to -write subject because it is so wide, it always changes with a global impact, and there always seems to be a juicy technological drama. I am sure that many will quote AI to help them become a writer, it definitely helps. I started before the rise of AI tools, but I like to use them to help think about ideas and review the articles, I think it is an excellent tool if it is used correctly, that is to say, do not copy the pasta an entire article that your AI tool generated from a single prompt.

Share on your strengths of travel?

My trip to technology was quite stable. The tops obtained a very easy work work that paid well. In addition, having more than 200 users on my application, the book of stuff on the App Store, was a highlight and working full -time as a developer, I had some achievements within the company on which I am attractive. The stockings have been sitting on a computer for too long, struggling to get a job on work when I was independent, stressful, dealing with the hierarchy of the corporate structure and apprentices to manage difficult colleagues.

What is your creative process?

I am no longer an amateur writer, it is not an absolute priority for me, so I am never stressed “I have to write something” Unless I enter one of the hackennoon competitions;) Ideas usually come to me when I work on a project, I think “Oh, I should write an article about it” because “Other developers will find this useful” or “it should be said more”.

Your favorite memory / article to date?

I think that I have not yet reached my full potential as a technical writer, so I have no article which I am extremely proud of, I think everything I wrote in his own place. I find this one useful because I have repeated it several times, low -cost API launch in AWS – But I have also done another with Sam Cli and Cloudformation since then.

How did you hear about Hackernoon? Share with us on your experience with Hackennoon.

I have read Hackennoon articles since around 2018. I think I found it just via Google Search. A useful article from back in the day that brought me here was the configuration of a node.js application with PM2 on an Amazon EC2 server.

What have you learned from your trip?

Stay humble, in technology, even if you have been co -tearing for a long time, there are probably things you still don't know. Learn permanently, do your best to keep an open mind and be curious about new technologies while remaining wary at the same time. Sometimes it is not the best idea to get on the last technological media threw train. Create stuff, share your knowledge and have fun. This is why we are here, right?

Final reflections

I don't think I will never stop writing on technology as long as I stay in industry. Because I think technology and writing go hand in hand, we must all document our code anyway, right?
