The Chinese SUV brand Premium Jaecoo officially launched under an exclusive event to the Centennial Park in Sydney, revealing its SUV of medium size J7 and announce the Bigger J8 modelwhich will be sold in June.

“I have always been attracted to performance – whether on the set, on the racetrack or in the car,” said Macpherson during the event. “The Jaecoo J7 is one of the most exciting vehicles I have taken. It is elegant, capable and full of innovation, but surprisingly, it comes without the luxury price.”

However, perhaps the star of the show alongside Macpherson was Steve Eum, a world vice-president of Chery's design. With almost 35 years of experience in automotive design through brands, notably Ford, General Motors and Hyundai, the Eum supervises Jaecoo and European design studios and led the creation of the brand's distinctive aesthetics.

The Eum design philosophy for the brand focuses on refined simplicity and authenticity, “pay tribute to the classic SUV proportions while incorporating modern elements”.

The J7 has already drawn the attention of Australian customers.

Jaecoo J8: Something bigger is on the way to Australia
