China told the White House on Friday to stop spreading lies about trade negotiations. The Ministry of the Chinese external that no conversations are happening, no meetings planned, and no communication conducted in the US on tariffs.
This came after President Donald Trump told reporters that the two countries were having discussions. Beijing called that wrong and told him to stop public confusion.
According to In Reuters, foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said in a press briefing that “the United States and China are not involved in consultations or communication on the tariff issue.” Guo also said he didn't know anything about whether China could exempt some American imports from tariffs.

Guo's comments are not just. The Ministry of Commerce's spokesman said he said nothing was happening.
“Currently there is no full economic and trade negotiations between China and the US,” he told Mandarin journalists. He also said that any statements about the development should be removed.
“If the US wants to solve the problem, it should cancel all unilateral steps in China,” he added. US tariffs on Chinese goods are now standing at 145%. In response, China placed a 125% tariff on American imports. These numbers are not only announced overnight.
The fight began on April 2 when Trump kicked a new wave of import duties. Since then, both countries have hit each other. Today, global companies are stuck, and markets have never retaliated.
This week, the Trump administration said the situation could not continue like this. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said there could be room to reduce tariffs on certain Chinese goods, depending on how Beijing responded. But even though Trump and Bescent claimed there was a development, the Chinese side said there was nothing.
The Foreign Ministry and Commerce Ministry is in line with one thing: the US is lying. They said China would only talk if Washington dropped electric games and treat them as equivalent. Until then, nothing will happen.

China's top leaders held a policy meeting this morning. They focus on how to help local businesses live what they call “outdoor shocks.” These shocks are the direct result of the tariff war.
Officials have reported that companies will get help in selling their products within the country rather than overseas. The commerce ministry said the government is now helping exporters to sell their goods indoors because the global market has become unstable.
Reuters also claimed that China is considering the release of some US imports from 125% tariffs, which will be clear to sign that Beijing is concerned about the injury. But Guo Jiakun says he's not familiar with anything. He made it clear that no one in the ministry had been briefed here.
Economist Yue Su said from the economist intelligence unit that China changed the game's plan. “Due to the uniqueness of Trump's policies and the lack of clarity on what he really likes, China's approach has moved from focusing on 'what you need' to 'what I need.'” He said pushing China for the US to cancel all the “unilateral” tariffs no longer care about the pleasing Washington.
Anger from Beijing has not only directed US officials. It also warned other countries not to cut off any backdoor deals in Washington that would hurt China's interest. Su said this moment became a “any necessary” situation for Beijing. If things rise again, he said, China will respond more difficult.
Many US banks have cut their forecasts to China's growth in recent weeks. The effects of the tariff war were stacked, and no one believed there was an end in sight. But inside the White House, Trump is still acting like things that improve.
So far, the US is China's biggest single-country trade partner. But on a regional size, Southeast Asia passed the European Union to become China's leading trade partner. That change did not happen overnight. It has been building in the past few years as Beijing has begun to make backup plans.
