The journalists asked Carney what had crossed his mind when the president spoke of the erasure of the American Canadian border, to which he replied, laughing first for a moment before saying that he was happy that people could not say what he thought.
According to the expert in body language, Judi James, Carney made a series of “hidden gestures” while Trump answered questions on American-Canadian relations. However, the Canadian PM has kept its “language in check” alongside the American chief. James also explained that Carney had made a series of large micro-scrums and grimages that seemed to form a ritual of denial.
As Trump said that Canada did not take into account the large part of American affairs, Carney initially looked at in a thoughtful way, but his eyes rolled up on the side of an evaluation. He blinked hard, narrowing his left eye to suggest a disagreement.

Carney says calmly but firmly Canada is “not for sale”
Earlier Tuesday, Trump lost shortly to face Carney about his longtime aspiration to conquer Canada. However, the former central banker, who went up to electoral victory by presenting himself as the defender of the sovereignty of Canada in the midst of a wave of public fury in the advances of Trump, calmly but firmly rejected his neighbor's offer to make Canada on the 51st state.
Trump qualified as a “real estate promoter at heart” and adding Canada to the United States would make a “wonderful marriage”. However, Carney, who moved to his seat with pinched lips while Trump was talking, immediately closed the president's thinking, stressing that certain places were never for sale.
Addressing journalists later Tuesday, the Canadian Prime Minister reiterated his farm response to Trump's products, saying that he was clear there in the oval office – because he had been clear throughout Canadians – that it would never happen. Canada was not for sale and was never going to be for sale.
Trump's rhetoric and threats sparked the “nationalist zeal” among Canadians, who boycotted American goods and renewed their support for the Liberal Party, which was able to form a minority government after the April elections. Carney also warned during his victory speech on April 29 that America had always wanted to annex Canada, adding that Trump was trying to break the country so that the United States could take over.
