Brazil police foil bomb plot at Lady Gaga gig on Copacabana beach attended by over 1 million people


Brazil police said on Sunday they arrested two people in connection with a filed plot to bomb Lady Gaga's packed mega-concert at Rio de Janeiro.
Rio's civil police force said with the Ministry of Justice IT “prevented a bomb attack that took place at Lady Gaga's concert in Copacabana” on Saturday night.
Officials said Superstar's big free gig on the beach, his first Brazil concert since 2012, has risen to two million people.
Write to X, Rio police said he arrested an adult “responsible for the plot” as well as an operational teenage -codenamed “fake monster” – a reference to the US Pop Diva pet name for his fans, “Little Monsters.”
It said they were recruiting people online to “conduct attacks using improvised explosives” and Molotov cocktail as “a collective challenge” with the aim of “gaining popularity on social media.”
Police added that the group behind the alleged “spreading speech” and promoted radicalization and self -harm online.
Police conducted aggression throughout the state of Rio de Janeiro as well as the states of Sao Paulo, Rio Grande Do Sul, and Mato Grosso.
“The police have been quietly active and without creating panic … We take action to prevent the crime from happening,” Felipe Curi from Rio de Janeiro's civilian police police said in a statement.
'Scared to be sick'
Lady Gaga's concert is the second million-power show on Copacabana Beach a year after a huge concert last year by Madonna.
Security is tight, with about 5,000 officials, drones and both monitoring and face recognition cameras that are deployed.
39-year-old star fans reacted to shock in the foiled plot news.
“Thank God. This will have an impact on more than 2 million people,” Posted the LadygagaFansether Instagram account, with 307,000 followers.
Writing on a fan's same account says he is “afraid of being sick about him (gaga) safe at all times.”
Lady Gaga thanked her on Sunday with her Brazil fans on social media for the “biggest crowd for any woman in history.”
“Your heart is shining brightly. Your culture is vibrant and special, I hope you know how grateful I am that I shared this historic moment with you,” he posted on X, former Twitter.
The gig is part of Rio's approach to hold mega-concerts in May in an effort to boost tourism during a low-weather.
Throughout the week, Gaga fans have been locking Rio, a city famous for the annual carnival that attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists from around the world.
Mayor Eduardo Paes also indicated that he plans to bring to the Irish rock band U2, even without a date.
Lady Gaga kicked her show witnessed more than two meters (6.5 feet) above the stage in a massive scarlet hoop gown opened to reveal a vertical cage from where her dancers appeared in a rendition of her 2011 song “Bloody Mary.”
“Brazil, I miss you so much,” the Pop Star shouted, who carried out many tracks from his latest album, “Mayhem,” as well as favorites from his entire career.
