Morgan Stanley eyes crypto rollout for E*Trade platform: Bloomberg

Banking giant Morgan Stanley has reportedly planned to list cryptocurrencies on E*trade investment brokerage and trading platforms.

According to a May 1 Bloomberg ReportThe company intends to list crypto assets in E*trade in 2026. The plan is still in the early development, and the bank is said to be exploring partnerships with established crypto companies to empower service. Internal discussions about cryptocurrency support have been reported to have begun in late 2024.

This will not be Morgan Stanley's first exposure to digital assets. The richest bank clients have had access to funds exchanged by crypto exchanges (ETFs) and futures for a few hours, with company advisers allowed to pitch bitcoin ETFs since August 2024.

Tailwind regulations drive the crypto forward

The news follows previous reports that Morgan Stanley considers increasing cryptocurrency trading to the E*trade online brokerage platform in early January. The time reports mentioned the expectations of a more lovely environment in crypto regulation.

The move came in the midst of a more favorable regulatory environment in the United States following President Donald Trump's election, campaigning on a pro-crypto platform and personally involved in some blockchain adventures.

The first 30 days of the Trump administration have brought significant changes to the local crypto industry. Most recently, US crypto proponents have shown optimism following the pro-crypto securities and exchange commission chair Paul Atkins.

The SEC has significantly changed its stance even before Atkins. In late February, the agency has already pouted many cases of cryptocurrency implementation with imminent deadlines.
