One of the wealthiest entrepreneurs in Mexico has made a dramatic social media statement Bitcoin is a better investment than real estate. Ricardo Salinas Pliego, worth nearly $ 6 billion, this week's X (formerly Twitter) page revealed a view. He described the purchase of a home as “expenses” and encouraged individuals to reconsider real estate.

According to Salinas, Bitcoin is a better contribution. He didn't just say it – he invests where his mouth is. The billionaire has about 70% of its assets in investments related to Bitcoin and Bitcoin.

Property considered to be a cost rather than a profit

Salinas did not hold back when talking about real estate. He said owning a house is not really an investment, as many people think. Instead, he holds something that empties the money. Real estate has taxes, maintenance and paperwork. It stays in one place and cannot be easily moved or modified.

Although most considers real estate a conservative and default opportunity, Salinas explicitly expressed his belief that perception was archaic. In a nutshell: Real estate that buys real estate as a speculative investment may be mistaken.

Bitcoin offers greater benefits

The numbers back that Salinas claims – at least lately. In 2017-2024, the real estate gave a total of 36%. Over the same time, Bitcoin exploded practically 2000%.

This type of point is not typical and some investors warn that Bitcoin is volatile and insecure. However, it is difficult to deny figures. More people are noticed, especially after the institutions began to outsource.

Bitcoin does not need corrections. It does not need a roof. There is no water fee or tenant to bother you. And it is less difficult to buy or sell real estate.

Housing market growth slows down

According to the recent JPMorgan ReportThe US home prices will only rise in 2025 only 3%. This is a modest rise given inflation and other costs on the rise. Demand is also decreasing. Larger interest rates and economic uncertainty take many buyers out of the market.

Investors who previously specialized in houses are now turning elsewhere. Bitcoin, where the use of use and reduced maintenance costs, is increasingly tempting towards retail and large money investors.

Salinas doubles on the bitcoin

Salinas is not unfamiliar with Bitcoin. He has talked about it for years. But to keep 70% of his wealth in it? This is a powerful sign that he thinks of its future. For someone who runs a giant business pen, such as Grupo Salinas and Grupo Elektra, the step is a lot.
