Apple makes progress toward its first pair of smart glasses: Report

Apple has been reported working on its own microchips in many product categories, including smart glasses and artificial intelligence-an indication of what's next for the massive giant tech based on the Silicon Valley.
One May 8th Report From Bloomberg, citing people who are familiar with this matter, the company said working on new processors to empower future devices, including its first smart glasses with Ray-Bans rival, stronger Mac, and artificial intelligence servers.
The smart glasses – a first for apple – relies on a specialized chip codenamed N401. The processor is based on Apple Watch chips but further optimizes for power efficiency and is designed to control many cameras planned for glasses, resources said.
Apple's wise glasses are the first versions of reality reality that include cameras, microphones and AI integrated, similar to rivals from meta. Perhaps they will have similar functions such as photos of photos, video recording and offering translation options, the report added.
The product can also include a visual intelligence feature for environmental intervention and describing things, looking for information about products and providing directions.
Mass production targeted for late 2026 or 2027, suggesting a product launch for approximately two years, they added.
Bloomberg resources added that other semiconductors also develop chips to empower future MACs and AI servers that may power the company's “Apple Intelligence” platform.

Apple Ai Chips
Apple is also working on its first dedicated AI server chips on a project that is codenamed “Baltra” to empower its Apple Intelligence platform, according to Bloomberg.
The baltra chips of the firm can have up to eight times the processing and graphic cores of the current M3 ultra chips, the report added. Apple targets the completion of 2027 to make its AI services faster and faster.
In late April, Chinese giant tech Huawei was reported to have developed a powerful AI chip that could compete with high-end processors from US chip manufacturer Nvidia.
