Brazil names Belo Horizonte 'Bitcoin capital'

The Belo Horizonte City Council has voted in favor of the city as the “Bitcoin capital”. Earlier this week, the decision was made during a fiery session, where 20 council members supported the bill, 8 against and 6 decided to refrain.
Council member Vil Santos introduced the proposal, saying that Bitcoin represents economic freedom and innovation. He quoted a US government step to build a cryptocurrency as an example of global adoption.
Political gap in Bitcoin over Belo Horizonte
The vote has begun discussion between members of the left and right council. Luiza Dulci, a member of the Council of the Workers' Party, stated that Bitcoin has no internal value and has no regulation. He questioned what jobs or income could be created by Bitcoin residents.
In response, Santos demanded that it was not a political tool, but a financial asset. “It does not concern ideology,” he said. “Bitcoin is a digital property. Toome Belo Horizonte's economy with innovation and crypto.”
Another council member noted that more than 2 million residents of Minas Gerais were already using Bitcoin. Invoice supporters believe that the city can become a hub for digital finance and technology -based business.
When Ethereum pushes $ 2,400 and Pectra Upgrade's fresh inflow is controlled, the momentum will build. The Brazilian B3 shift will soon appear ETH futures can further strengthen this trend.
At the same time, the decision of the Belo Horizonte Council follows the global impetus to add Bitcoin with a strategic reserve to several states of the US as well as several countries around the world.
