Apple Loses Court Fight, Must Allow External Payment Links

  • Apple violated the 2021 court injunction, provided to prevent and prevent anticompetitive conduct and pricing.
  • Today, Apple may not have control over how the developers' design or position links draw users to buy items outside the application.

Recently passed by the Judge of the United States District judgment That Apple has violated a decision on antitrust legal against epic games. As a result, Crypto app developers can now direct users to payment outside of Apple's ecosystem without any limits or heavy fees.

On April 30, U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers decided that the court had found Apple violating the 2021 court injunction, which was provided to prevent and hinder anticompetitive conduct and pricing. Apple tried to get to the way of competition, and it would not be accepted.

The judge also noted that the decision was effective immediately, and Apple would lose the impeding developer and communicate with users. Also, it cannot charge the commission with off-app purchases.

He also made it clear that it was a decision and not a negotiation. It has previously been ordered that Apple may not have control over how design developers or position links that draw users to buy items outside the application.

Apple also can't prevent some categories of apps and developers from having access to the link. After this conclusion, many crypto members noticed that the guidelines were updated, and it was clear that they did not like the decision.

Industry reaction to updating

The chief executive officer and co-founder of appfigures mentioned that people can confuse Apple's passive-aggressive language. The CEO is further explained in the update, noting that the apps can now link to an external collection that does not interrupt the token (NFT).

Also, they can be linked outside the application store or at an external payment system without permission. Yesterday, a crypto commentator, Xero, was also posted on X, mentioning that it was mainly for mobile crypto games and apps.

On May 2, the CEO Instasize has also been posted to X, which is already mentioned, “Apple has just updated the app store rules. You can now add buttons, external links, and CTA without the need for special rights.”
