Sam Altman’s World launches in six U.S. cities to expand its ‘proof of human’ services

The World (former Worldcoin) was launched in six US cities, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, which marked a major expansion for the company's 'proof of human services'. The project, supported by Openai CEO Sam Altman, also announced plans to launch a visa card for digital assets and a tinder -verification pilot pilot program.

Sam Altman's digital project of identity, which is now revealed as 'world,' revealed Plans to officially plant its feet in the US, with registry centers that pop up in major cities such as Austin, San Francisco, and Miami. The project aims to have enough orbs spread throughout the US to provide 180 million Americans accessing its network by the end of 2025.

Altman's eye-scan adventure officially made on Thursday, May 1st, as the company opened six US retail locations, including Austin, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Nashville, Miami, and San Francisco-where people could sign up to scan their eyeballs. More than 7k of the orbs of the world are available for iris scans in these locations.

Adrian Ludwig, Chief Architect of Tools for Humanity, said the company had met with the US regulators – without mentioning the specific names – before its planned expansion. Tools for humanity also say that the information it has collected has been able to conclude and that it stores personal data.

Ludwig, also the Chief Information Security Officer in Tools for Humanity, which has previously revealed that the project stored data by individuals who are separate from many parties, adding that a malicious actor needs to compromise all of them at the same time to obtain access or manipulate all personal data.

The world team also announced that the need for real connection has never been greater than it is today, adding that the meeting of new people should feel eager and safe, with tools that make it easier to trust and connect truly.

The world plans to introduce a visa card and a Tinder pilot program

The world has also announced plans to launch a visa card, allowing users to make payments using their WLD tokens or other digital currency. The new 'World Visa Card' will be available in the US later this year.

According to the World Team, the new card directly connects to a user's World App Wallet, allowing them to spend their digital assets anywhere the visa will be accepted. Traders will also be able to receive Fiat Currency without having to understand crypto, while people get flexibility in how they spend their digital ownership.

The team also said the project cooperated with the match group, the parent company behind many popular dating apps. However, Ludwig pointed out that it would be to match to include 'proof-of-humanity' credentials throughout the former brands such as Tinder, Hinge, Match.com, and lots of fish.

“For consumers, they don't want to think about this technology,” Ludwig said. “What they want to think is: 'I want to date real people.”

Ludwig also thinks of a future where the results of a person's background examination may be linked to their orb verified identity but added that will require a deeper cooperation with various identification services.
