Tudor Black Bay Is Back And More Burgundy Than Ever

  • Tudor's Black Bay 58 obtains its very first master chronometer certification
  • The new daring and daring telescope color is a nod to a submariner prototype from the 90s never produced.
  • Is it the most portable and expressive black bay? It is certainly my favorite.

While Rolex continues to make the headlines with the launch of the Land-Dweller approved by Roger Federer, Tudor, the courageous sister brand of Rolex, discreetly perfected one of his most popular vintage crowd dishes.

THE Black BayTudor's response to the modern diving watch par excellence, has a disproportionate quantity of diving pedigree which dates back to 1954. At the time, its 100 -meter water resistance was advanced and had quickly won the seal of approval for professional divers and, well, real navy seals.

Four years later, Tudor took this revered collection to new depths: 200, to be exact. This year Pivot, 1958, which gave its name to Black Bay 58. Now, for watches and wonders 2025, it's back and more Burgundy than ever.

The new Black Bay 58 may seem familiar at first glance. Released in Geneva this week, Watch AcFicionados will notice the same case of 39 mm, the same vintage charm informed. But below the surface, he had a serious technical radiance to match some of the industry leaders in the famous diving watch.

For the first time, Tudor's Black Bay 58 received the coveted certification of Master Chronometer. This means rigorous tests by metas, magnetic resistance and chronometric precision with which even the most obsessive collectors cannot contest.

But updates are not only under the hood. This version pays tribute to a curious footnote in the history of Tudor, a prototype from the 90s Ref. 7,9190 with a border dial and a striking burgundy telescope which have never reached production.

The Black Bay has always been something of a spectator, especially when Tudor lowered the size of the body at 39 mm and added a few more bells and whistles, but the rebirth of a daring and playful burgundy hue sees this piece take a slightly different profile to its predecessors – the one that reflects the vintage charm of this collection, but firmly spice the interests of the more contemporary pallets.

Especially when associated with the new Rivet style bracelet with 5 tudor links, now equipped with Quick tlasse in T For this perfect day adjustment. And although it is not wrapped in solid gold like Black Bay 58 18K from last year, or even wearing the Miami Pink of the MLS franchise by David Beckham, this version looks like a return to form: expressive, technically related and rooted in a diving pedigree that we learned and loving from this Swiss watchmaker.
